Over-the-hill repertory thespians George and Charlotte Hay are touring the backwaters in 1953 with tired versions of Cyrano de Bergerac and Private Lives when they learn that Frank Capra is expected at the matinee to consider casting them in his next movie. Meanwhile, a domestic crisis drives George to drink, new and ex-lovers appear, and hilarious misunderstandings and madcap adventures ensue in this comic romp of mistaken identities. Carol Burnett was nominated for 1996's Tony Award for best actess in her comeback appearance as Charlotte Hay. Don't miss the slamming doors and costume calamities in this farcical love letter to theater hams everywhere! |

Chris Enni (Sound Design) has enjoyed working on sound design for the Bus Barn Stage. In pursuing his writing career, Chris has had two of his plays produced at the Foothill College New Works Festival - THE MAN WHO MARRIED A DUMB WIFE and THE PUPPET FACTORY. Before writing plays, Chris enjoyed writing songs featured on television, radio, and video. And before that, he toured nationally with his band The Cardiff Reefers, which came to an abrupt end when he and his wife decided to have children. And before that, he doesn't remember much - because of the children. Chris also plays jazz, popular and classical piano as well as electric guitar in his current band, Bad Daddy (we really aren't that bad). Thank you for coming to see another great show brought to you by your great local talent at the Bus Barn.
Ron Gasparinetti (Set Designer) Hailing from the East Coast, Ron moved to California in 1996 to take on them responsibility of Technical Director and resident scenic designer for Palo Alto Players, he eventually also took on the role of Production Manager for the company. Eight years and 40 productions later, Ron left Palo Alto Players to start his own scenic design company and quickly realized that not only did Bay Area theatre companies need an affordable designer but also needed someone to build and paint their scenery. In 2005 Ron met Charles McKeithan and several months later, in February 2006, they joined forces to create THRUST Scenic Design & Construction. Together they look forward to bringing enjoyable theatre to the Bay Area.
Ben Hemmen (Lighting Designer) returns to Bus Barn to Stage Manage CAMPING WITH HENRY & TOM. He does not know why. His Father had a serious injury while camping, and his Mother grew up on a farm without electricity and didn't understand going back to cold and damp when she worked so hard to escape to central heating. At least when he read the script he knew he would be entertained, even after the 20th rerun, and there is always more work to be done.. Question and comments can be directed to ben@hemmen.com (In Memory of Theresa (Terry) Hemmen, 1924-2011)
Charles McKeithan (Master Carpenter) has been a handyman by day and an actor by night in the local Bay Area for the past ten years. Last year he joined forces with Ron Gasparinetti to form THRUST Scenic Design and Construction. He now has the pleasure of earning a living working in theater full time to help bring Ron's creative visions to life. For more on Charles visit www.charlesmck.com.
Ruth Raser (Costume Design) graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from
Wheaton College, Norton, Massachusetts in French literature, with a minor in art. She
went on to get a Masters of Fine Arts Degree from San Francisco State University
graduating in 2005 with a primary focus in costume design and a secondary focus in set
design. While at San Francisco State University she was a semi-finalist at the Kennedy
Center Theater Arts Foundation. Subsequently, the costumes designed by her for LES
LIAISONS DANGEREUSES proceeded to the Prague Quadrennial to represent SFSU in
the student exhibit there. Many of the plays she has designed have benefitted scholarships
for children through community theater projects. She has also designed and created
costumes for many children’s theater plays. Her volunteer work has included being a
docent at SFMOMA. In conjunction with SFMOMA her art work has been shown in the
Staff art shows there. She has illustrated a children’s book “You Can’t Teach a Dog to
Chew with his Mouth Closed”.
Patricia Tyler (Properties Design) is very happy to be designing props once more for Bus Barn! She has designed props for over 30 shows in the Bay Area.
